Charmaine Whitman, RMT
Aanii (hello)! I am Charmaine Whitman an RMT for over 15 years and a graduate from Georgian College. I moved to Barrie with my family over 30 years ago and have lived and worked in Simcoe County for most of my career. I now live in Innisfil with my own family and am happy to put down some more local roots once again in this smaller community that I have grown to love. I am proudly Indigenous (Ojibway) from Beausoleil First Nation (Christian Island, Georgian Bay ON) but grew up off reservation in Muskoka. I have worked in so many amazing settings over the years; from five- star spas, wellness clinics, community health centers, teaching at Georgian College, travelling to various First Nations communities and now to you.
My Indigenous heritage definitely has a large influence on my treatment style and in my approach to helping my clients achieve optimal wellness in all elements of themselves: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. My treatment approach includes: Swedish therapeutic massage, myofascial release, cranial sacral, reflexology, hot stone massage, Reiki (energy healing and balancing). In addition, you can also add cupping, aromatherapy, or indie head massage to any treatment. Above all else my greatest tool is following my intuition to attune to your unique needs. In my culture you are given a ‘spirit name’ and when I asked for mine it was proclaimed to be ‘Healing Hands Woman,’ a very suitable name for this humble RMT.
I have walked my own healing journey over the past twenty years, learning so many different modalities and facets of what true healing and wellness is to me. It is my honour to hold space for clients to explore what they need to feel whole and balanced within and to express that outward. The journey is much easier when we have someone to share it with, I look forward to sharing it with you. I am eagle clan, meaning I fly highest to great spirit (Creator) and help take the prayers of others up to the heavens. True healing begins with you and the courage to face what is stopping you from your best life and best health.

She finds great joy in working with anyone who is up for considering new avenues toward health. Her favorite modalities are Nutrition, acupuncture/body work, botanical medicine and homeopathy. Gudrun is fueled by what makes each of us unique and treats accordingly.
Gudrun grew up in a small mountain town in Montana and was fascinated with plants and trees from the time she was born. As a teen she studied survival courses and sought out information on how the indigenous people in Montana and the world have lived closer to nature. As a young adult she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where she worked for several local herbalists growing herbs and food, making tinctures, natural cosmetics and therapeutic odds and ends.
In 2001 She started her formal education in Santa Fe, where she received her Registered Polarity Practitioner designation from the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts. While living in Santa Fe Gudrun traveled a lot and sought out people who were involved in traditional food practices and healing throughout the world. She soaked up all she could in Nepal, India, Japan, Mexico, Ireland and other countries. In her thirties Gudrun decided she would like a formal education that married both conventional and traditional healing. In 2010 she moved to Toronto to study Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Nauturopathic Medicine.
Today she takes a very practical approach when addressing her patient’s needs. Grounded in current diagnostics, blood work and physicians reports, she helps her patients to discover the cause of their heath conditions.
